Short Courses on Topological Phase Transitions
In addition to the regular workshop, we have arranged a series of short courses during the preceding week (30 May – 02 June). This will consist of 4 sets of 4 lectures (1.5 hrs each) as listed below. The goal of these short courses is to provide an in-depth exposition on some selected topics in the field of topological phases. The course aims at Ph.D. students and research fellows working on different aspects of topological phases in various disciplines (condensed matter, photonics, cold atoms, spintronics). The following topics will be covered.
Prof. Shun–Qing Shen – Topological insulators – fundamental concepts
Prof. Nicolas Regnault – Entranglement spectroscopy in studying topological phases
Prof. Frank Pollmann – Symmetry Protected Topological phases
Prof. Qian Niu – Berry phase effects on electronic transport
Date: 30 May to 02 June, 2017
Venue: School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University
